Your Haze, My Haze

One thing I love about my bedroom, is the view I get. Oft times when I'm rushing on the way out and a slice of the blue sky catches my attention and I'd take a moment to pause and look out, I am lucky to get a view in clustered Singapore. Ok so it's mostly of rooftops and what not, but at least I'm assured nothing's gonna be blocking it ever. Not unless they tear down the freeway, the industrial factories across from me AND a neighbouring block too. :P

Not to mention some of the best make out sessions I had was at the window, looking out onto the view...

But recently, blue skies are but a rarity from my point of view. Both environmentally and socio-politically. Below are some pix I took on 2 days following the worst peaks of the haze period from my room.

What triggered off my recollection of these shots I took impromptu from my room, was reading CNA's report of Singapore Expects Long Term Haze Plan to Be In Place.

I'm not sure whoever taught these moronic parrots at Mediacorp where and how to report, but it's usual stentorian tone of loudly prclaiming yet again our govt's expectations of our neighbours to behave like its citizens - pliant and unresisting, really really grates on my nerves.

Read what it says, it's a PROPOSAL to Indonesia on how to fix the haze problem. Years ago when the haze situation was so bad everyone was walking around in face masks for weeks, such communist-like proclamations about our govt. making such proposals to the Megawati govt were also all over the place. How did that work out eh?

Singapore expects its proposal to be implemented willy-nilly when it delivers its "ideas" to the Indonesians. Singapore expects Johor to wake up cos' they're a bunch of car-jackers & other criminals (what exactly did that LKY say again?), Singapore has to assert itself politely because its neighbours all marginalise their own Chinese (someone send the Lees to diploamcy school can?), Singapore thinks it fine to own 96% of another country's national telco, just like how it owns 97% of its Parliament. Hey if it works at home, surely it must logically work elsewhere right?

Bloody scholars.
